Israeli President Isaac Herzog shared his New Year’s wishes in his Christmas message.

Herzog said, “We wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all our Christian brothers and sisters in Israel, the Middle East, and around the world from Jerusalem.”

Speaking about their visit before the Christmas holiday, Herzog said, “Before the Christmas holiday, we visited the Monastery of Saint Anthony in Jerusalem, where we met our neighbors, the Franciscan nuns. We prayed together for peace and brotherhood; we united against hatred and extremism.”

Herzog expressed his deep pride in the Christian communities in Israel, saying, “I am deeply proud of the Christian communities in Israel; these communities are an inseparable part of our nation.”

Herzog concluded his statement with, “The State of Israel will continue to protect the freedom of worship for all people and communities. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”
