Kallas: Bucha has become a symbol of the brutality of Russia’s war
Kyiv, March 31 (Hibya) – European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas stated that what happened in Bucha symbolizes the brutality of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas said that many of the civilians who lost their lives in Bucha were shot at close range, while some victims were killed with their hands tied behind their backs.
Recalling that four years have passed since these mass killings, Kallas noted that the victims were commemorated and said: “What happened here cannot be denied.”
Emphasizing the European Union’s determination not to let these crimes go unpunished, Kallas stated that a special tribunal for the crime of aggression and a commission to handle compensation claims are being supported. Kallas added that Russia must be held accountable for its actions in Ukraine.
