Kallas: Even if the war in Ukraine ends, the danger will not disappear
Brussels, September 16 (Hibya) – The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, made a statement regarding Europe’s security and defense capacity.
In a post on social media, Kallas said: “Even if the war in Ukraine ends, the danger will not disappear. We must strengthen our defense against Russia.”
She explained that the EU’s “Defence Readiness Roadmap” aims to address current capacity gaps: “This plan seeks to fill our defense shortcomings with clear objectives and timelines.”
Kallas also emphasized, in a joint statement with Members of the European Parliament Henna Virkkunen and Andrius Kubilius, that ensuring Europe’s security remains a long-term priority.
