UNRWA: Hunger in Gaza is a man-made crisis, aid must enter without restrictions
New York, October 16 (Hibya) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) emphasized that hunger and widespread malnutrition in the Gaza Strip are a man-made crisis.
In a statement, UNRWA noted that although some food aid has reached the area, it is far from meeting the massive humanitarian needs. The agency announced that three months' worth of food supplies, prepared in Jordan and Egypt, are ready to be delivered to Gaza.
On the occasion of World Food Day, UNRWA called for large-scale and unrestricted entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
The agency appealed to the international community, saying: “Let UNRWA deliver aid.”
