EU High Representative Kaja Kallas made remarks regarding her high-level meetings in Amman, the U.S.-Iran peace talks, and developments in Lebanon.

Referring to diplomatic relations with Jordan and regional issues, Kallas said: "Jordan is a pillar of stability and one of the EU's closest and most reliable partners in the Middle East. Together with Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, we discussed the U.S.-Iran peace talks and how the current ceasefire can be transformed into a more lasting peace."

Drawing attention to the fragile situation in Lebanon and the EU's initiatives concerning the country, Kallas stated: "In Lebanon, Israel and Hezbollah are trapped in a dangerous cycle of attacks, counterattacks, and fragile ceasefires."

Kallas concluded her statement by saying: "Together with Foreign Minister Youssef Raggi, we reviewed the EU's support for the Lebanese Armed Forces and efforts to establish a new EU mission in the country."
