Kallas: Negotiations begin for a new security and economic cooperation agreement with Qatar
Doha, 6 December (Hibya) – European Commission Vice President Kaja Kallas announced that an agreement had been reached to launch negotiations with Qatar for a new cooperation agreement, following her meetings in Doha.
Kallas met with Qatar’s Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani during talks held in Doha. In her statement, she said that both sides agreed to begin negotiations on a new agreement aimed at strengthening regional security and economic cooperation.
Kallas emphasized that, amid current global tensions, the European Union prefers to continue cooperating with its international partners. The negotiation process is expected to continue at a technical level in the coming period.
