Lahbib: Protecting civilians and humanitarian workers is critical
New York, September 22 (Hibya) - European Commission member Hadja Lahbib assessed the increasing use of drones in the Great Lakes region.
According to a statement by European Commission member Hadja Lahbib, views were exchanged with representatives of the United Nations and humanitarian organizations on how to ensure full respect for international humanitarian law amid the increasing use of drones in the Great Lakes region.
Lahbib said protecting civilians and humanitarian workers, as well as safeguarding the space in which humanitarian activities can continue, is critically important.
