Lahbib: We are closely monitoring the Hantavirus outbreak
Brussels, May 9 (Hibya) - European Union (EU) Commissioner for Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib stated that the risk related to the Hantavirus outbreak remains low, but the process is being closely monitored together with national authorities and health organizations.
European Union (EU) Commissioner for Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib made a statement regarding the latest situation concerning the Hantavirus outbreak.
Lahbib stated that the risk level remains low, but the process is being carefully monitored. She noted that they are in constant contact with the national health authorities of member states, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), and the World Health Organization (WHO).
The statement also noted that European Union countries have been informed about existing medical countermeasures and vaccine and treatment development efforts supported by the European Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA).
