Lammy: The media has the right to report freely
London, May 3 (Hibya) – UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy stated that the media has the right to report freely and called on all parties to allow journalists to fulfill their vital roles.
In a statement marking World Press Freedom Day on May 3, Lammy said journalists reporting on conflicts bring the darkest events to light.
He paid tribute to those risking their lives to report from Gaza and Sudan, adding, “The media has the right to report freely. We call on all parties to allow journalists to fulfill their vital roles.”
