Lammy: We are restructuring the youth justice system
London, May 18 (Hibya)- UK Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy announced that they will reform the youth justice system in order to prevent young people from becoming involved in crime and to improve street safety.
UK Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy drew attention in his statement to the fight against knife crime and the impact of past policies.
Referring to structural changes in the system and the goals of the reform, Lammy said, “The Labour Party is restructuring the youth justice system to prevent young people from falling into crime, make streets safer, and tackle knife crime.”
Criticizing the Conservative Party era and outlining the content of the reform, Lammy stated, “After decades of Conservative Party cuts to youth services, our reforms aim to break the cycle of reoffending through earlier intervention and faster responses.”
