UNRWA Commissioner General Lazzarini stated that the entry of independent foreign journalists into Gaza is blocked.

Lazzarini also pointed out that humanitarian workers, who report on the difficult situation of the people and human rights violations, also face entry restrictions, saying: "Journalists should not be forced to go to courts to defend their basic media freedoms."

Lazzarini emphasized that humanitarian organizations and their workers should not be put in a position where they must choose between speaking about what they see, risking being banned, or staying silent and continuing to provide assistance. "These Israeli policies aim to deny the suffering and existence of Palestinians, making them even further removed from humanity. The lifting of the information ban has long been overdue," he added.
