European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen spoke by phone with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez regarding the power outage in the Iberian Peninsula.
Von der Leyen said about the conversation: "I reiterated the European Commission’s support for national and European authorities in monitoring the situation through our Electricity Coordination Group. We will coordinate efforts to help restore the electricity system and share information, and we agreed to stay in close contact."
