Merz: Protecting Vilnius means protecting Berlin
Berlin, January 29 (Hibya) – German Chancellor Friedrich Merz spoke about the military alliance between Lithuania and Germany.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz made statements regarding defense cooperation between the two countries and the security of Eastern Europe.
Emphasizing Germany’s commitment to its allies, Merz said: “Protecting Vilnius means protecting Berlin. Lithuania and Germany are interdependent as allies.”
Referring to the scope of the military presence and infrastructure efforts in Lithuania, Merz concluded his statement by saying: “With the enhanced protection of the brigade and critical infrastructure in Lithuania, we are jointly investing in Europe’s security.”
