Weel: The people of Sudan are facing ongoing atrocities
Amsterdam, January 29 (Hibya) – Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs David van Weel stated that he supports the sanctions adopted by the European Union (EU) against parties committing violence against civilians in Sudan.
Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs David van Weel made statements regarding the ongoing internal conflicts in Sudan and acts of violence against civilians.
Speaking about the humanitarian situation in Sudan, Weel said: “The people of Sudan are facing ongoing atrocities. I welcome the adoption of EU sanctions against the RSF and SAF perpetrators responsible for violence against civilians.”
Addressing the international community and the parties to the conflict, Weel concluded his statement by saying: “I strongly call on both sides to respect international humanitarian law. The Netherlands will continue its efforts toward this goal.”
