Chancellor Merz said, “Hamas tortures hostages, terrorizes Israel, and uses the people of Gaza as human shields.” He emphasized that there is no avoiding a ceasefire and that the release of all hostages is a mandatory precondition.
Merz added, “Israel must not leave Hamas's inhumane conduct unanswered and must continue humanitarian aid.”
