Metsola: Iranian regime's attacks are unforgivable and cannot be justified
Brussels, February 28 (Hibya) – European Parliament President Roberta Metsola stated that the Iranian regime's attacks on the Gulf Cooperation Council countries this morning are unforgivable and cannot be justified.
European Parliament President Metsola pointed out that the European Parliament has long called for the Iranian regime to remove its pressure tools, end its support for proxy terrorist forces, abandon its nuclear ambitions, and allow its people to choose their own fate.
Metsola said that the events in Iran should not lead to an escalation that could threaten the Middle East, Europe, and beyond, adding: "The Iranian regime's attacks on the Gulf Cooperation Council countries this morning are unforgivable and cannot be justified."
Metsola emphasized that the Iranian regime must avoid any attacks targeting the Gulf countries, Israel, or citizens of Europe or the United States, and added: "We are in close contact with our partners in the region to find ways to protect innocent lives, international law, and regional stability."
