Brussels, June 10 (Hibya) - European Parliament President Roberta Metsola discussed strengthening European defense and increasing cooperation during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

The meeting took place on the same day that a key regulation aimed at strengthening European defense was adopted.
In a statement following the meeting, Metsola said that ahead of the NATO Summit, discussions focused on enhancing Europe’s defense capabilities and taking on greater responsibility in the field of security.
The meeting also assessed steps aimed at developing Europe’s defense capabilities and strengthening the transatlantic alliance.
