Mixed close in U.S. stock markets
Istanbul, May 19 (Hibya) - United States (U.S.) markets ended the trading day of the week on a mixed note. While the Dow Jones index posted gains, technology-heavy indexes declined.
U.S. markets ended the trading session with mixed performance. The Dow Jones index recorded gains, while technology-focused indexes declined.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average index rose 0.32 percent to 49,686.12 points.
The broad-based S&P 500 index fell 0.07 percent to 7,403.05 points, while the technology-heavy NASDAQ Composite index closed down 0.51 percent at 26,090.734 points.
The Russell 2000 index, which includes small-cap companies, also declined 0.65 percent to 2,775.102 points.
The CBOE Volatility Index, which measures market volatility, fell 3.31 percent to 17.82.
