NATO Secretary General Rutte visited the Chernihiv region
Chernihiv, February 5 (Hibya) – NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte visited the Chernihiv region together with Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, as part of his visit to Ukraine, traveled to the war-scarred Chernihiv region and carried out a series of inspections. During the visit, he was accompanied by Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha and Regional Governor Viacheslav Chaus.
Speaking about the visit, Rutte said: “Yesterday, together with Andrii Sybiha and Viacheslav Chaus, I visited the Chernihiv region, and local residents told us how they survived the war. I saw the basement of a school where an entire village was held captive for a month by Russian forces in 2022.”
Stating that he observed humanitarian aid and defense efforts in the region, Rutte added: “I saw the Points of Invincibility, which currently serve as resilience centers and help people meet their needs during outages. I saw how the armed forces counter Russian drones.”
Emphasizing the resilience of Ukraine’s youth, Rutte concluded: “I met with university students who are determined to play their part in building a peaceful and prosperous future.”
