Pakistan Foreign Ministry issues joint statement on Gaza and Jerusalem
Islamabad, July 24 (Hibya) - Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that a joint statement issued by the foreign ministers of eight Arab-Islamic countries called for an end to Israel's attacks on Gaza, the preservation of Jerusalem's historical and legal status, and the abandonment of attempts to alter the existing status of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The statement expressed deep concern over Israel's attacks against the Palestinian people and the humanitarian situation in Gaza, calling for an immediate ceasefire in accordance with international law and the protection of civilians.
The joint statement rejected unilateral attempts to alter the historical and legal status of East Jerusalem and stressed the need to preserve the current historical and legal status of Al-Aqsa Mosque. It also called for an end to violations against holy sites and for respect for the custodial role of the Jordanian Hashemite Waqf over Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The ministers called on the international community to intensify efforts to end Israel's attacks, protect the Palestinian people, and achieve lasting peace based on the two-state solution.
