U.S. stock index futures opened the new trading day with slight gains, while the impact of the technology-led selloff seen in the previous Wall Street session continues to weigh on markets.

S&P 500 futures rose 0.05 percent to 7,411.50 points, while the benchmark S&P 500 index ended the previous session down 1.21 percent at 7,408.30 points.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 506.93 points, or 0.97 percent, to 51,711.65 points, while the technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite lost 2.15 percent to close at 25,137.69 points.

The market's risk-off sentiment was also reflected in volatility indicators. The S&P 500 VIX Index climbed 12.38 percent to 18.70, signaling stronger investor concerns over uncertainty.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the dollar's performance against major global currencies, traded 0.03 percent lower at 101.257.

Analysts said selling pressure in U.S. markets intensified due to corporate earnings, rising energy prices, geopolitical risks, and developments regarding new tariffs, while the limited gains in futures indicate bargain buying following the previous session's sharp losses.
