Palestinian Foreign Ministry responds to settler control over Ibrahimi Mosque
Ramallah, July 16 (Hibya) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced that it is closely monitoring with concern reports in Israeli media about the transfer of administrative authority over the Ibrahimi Mosque (Al-Haram Al-Ibrahimi) from the Hebron Municipality to a settler council.
The Ministry described the move as an unprecedented stage in Israel’s ongoing efforts to assert sovereignty over the holy site, Judaize the mosque, and alter its identity and historical characteristics.
It emphasized that this action constitutes a clear violation of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
