Plenkovic: Our relations with Italy are strong and our cooperation is close
Rome, 19 November (Hibya) – Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic met with the President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, Lorenzo Fontana, emphasizing joint work within the EU, NATO and international forums.
Prime Minister Plenkovic began his official visit to Italy with a meeting with Speaker Fontana. During the meeting, the good relations and close cooperation between the two countries were reaffirmed. Plenkovic stated that Croatia’s presidency of the EUMED9 group provides an opportunity to strengthen cooperation on the European and Mediterranean agenda.
He noted that their shared goals include achieving a just and sustainable peace in Ukraine, strengthening the EU perspective of Southeast Europe, and enhancing stability in the Middle East. Plenkovic also highlighted that the presence of Furio Radin, the representative of the Italian minority in the Croatian Parliament, reaffirms the commitment of both countries to protecting minority rights.
