In a post on social media, Prevot said the event, which should have been a day of celebration, ended in an attack. He stated that one person was killed and many others were injured.
Prevot described the attack on the Pride march as "an attack on the right to be oneself and express it without fear," adding that this right is not open to debate.
The Belgian Foreign Minister expressed his support for the victims of the attack, their families, and the LGBTQI+ community in Berlin, while also thanking the German authorities, police, and emergency services that responded after the incident.
