Putin met with Malaysian King Sultan Ibrahim
Moscow, August 6 (Hibya) – Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the King of Malaysia, Sultan Ibrahim.
President Putin met with Malaysian King Sultan Ibrahim, who is on an official visit to Russia, at the Kremlin.
The meeting addressed the future development of Russia-Malaysia relations as well as current international and regional issues.
Before the meeting, a formal welcoming ceremony for Ibrahim was held by Putin.
President Putin emphasized the importance of friendly relations with Malaysia, saying: “Our political dialogue is well-established. We are in communication at the governmental level. Parliamentarians are in constant contact.”
He highlighted cooperation in various international platforms: “Of course, primarily under the UN framework. But it is also known that one of Russia’s foreign policy priorities in Asia is developing dialogue with ASEAN, which Malaysia chairs this year.”
Malaysian King Sultan Ibrahim stated that they regard Russia as a significant and reliable partner.
He said that the visit reflects their sincere desire to enhance relations and cooperation: “As they say in Russia, friendship is more important than money. I am sure that the spirit of friendship will help strengthen relations between our peoples and bring direct benefits.”
