Putin said he is ready to meet Zelensky if he "comes to Moscow"
Moscow, September 4 (Hibya) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that he is willing to arrange a face-to-face meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, but only on the condition that the summit takes place in Moscow.
Speaking at a press conference after the Victory Day parade in Beijing on Wednesday, the Russian leader said that U.S. President Donald Trump had asked the two to sit down and discuss ending Russia’s war in Ukraine.
"Yes, it’s possible, let him come to Moscow," Putin said.
"I have never ruled out the possibility of meeting him. But is it reasonable to meet?" he added, once again questioning the legitimacy of Zelensky’s presidency.
In response, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister rejected the idea of a face-to-face meeting with Putin if it were to take place in the Russian capital.
Andrii Sybiha wrote in a post on X on Wednesday evening, listing seven countries that had offered to host peace talks, describing them as "serious proposals."
