Qatar becomes 95th member of the Hague Conference on Private International Law
Doha, September 17 (Hibya) - Qatar became the 95th member of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) after formally submitting its instrument of acceptance of membership.
According to a statement by Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the instrument of acceptance was handed over by Qatar's Ambassador to the Netherlands, Mutlaq Al Qahtani, to Jules Van Eijndhoven, Head of the Treaties Division at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a ceremony held in The Hague. HCCH Secretary General Christophe Bernasconi also attended the ceremony.
Qatar was reported to have submitted its application for membership in the organization on April 10, 2025. Al Qahtani said the membership reflects Qatar's approach to strengthening international legal and judicial cooperation, highlighting efforts to develop the rules governing private international law and promote the rule of law.
