Saar met with Slovenia’s new Foreign Minister Kajzer
Jerusalem, June 4 (Hibya) - Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar announced that during his meeting with Slovenia’s new Foreign Minister Tone Kajzer, he conveyed Israel’s decision to open its first embassy in Ljubljana as soon as possible.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar discussed steps to elevate diplomatic relations between the two countries with Slovenia’s new government and Foreign Minister Tone Kajzer.
Stating that he conveyed his congratulations at the beginning of the meeting, Saar said: "We had an excellent meeting with Slovenia’s new Foreign Minister Tone Kajzer. I congratulated him on the formation of the new government and on assuming the position of Foreign Minister."
Referring to the process of opening the embassy and the Slovenian side’s approach, Saar said: "I informed him of my decision to open Israel’s first embassy in Ljubljana as soon as possible. The minister promised to provide all necessary assistance to ensure the embassy is established quickly. We discussed our shared intention to strengthen relations between our countries."
Saar also emphasized that diplomatic issues from the recent past were discussed, stating: "We also addressed the serious incident that occurred this week at the end of the previous government’s term, concerning the refusal to allow an aircraft belonging to an Israeli airline to land in Slovenia."
