Sharif: I hope the ceasefire in Lebanon will pave the way for sustainable peace
Islamabad, April 17 (Hibya) – Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that he welcomed the ceasefire announcement between Israel and Lebanon reached under the leadership of U.S. President Donald Trump.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while emphasizing the diplomatic success of the ceasefire process, also shared his country’s stance on Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Describing the ceasefire decision as a "bold and wise" step, Sharif said, "I welcome the ceasefire announcement in Lebanon achieved through the bold and wise diplomatic efforts led by President Donald Trump, and I hope this will pave the way for sustainable peace."
Referring to peace efforts in the region, Sharif said, "Pakistan reaffirms its unwavering support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and will continue to support all efforts aimed at lasting peace in the region."
