Sharif: We keep alive the memory of the suffering endured by Palestinians
Islamabad, May 16 (Hibya) - Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized Pakistan's solidarity with the Palestinian people in a message published on the occasion of the Nakba, the anniversary of the displacement of Palestinians from their homeland.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke about the historical displacement processes in the Middle East and the rights violations faced by the Palestinian people.
Drawing attention to the historical significance of the Nakba and the exile experienced by Palestinians, Sharif said: "As our Palestinian brothers commemorate the 78th anniversary of the Nakba, we keep alive the memory of the displacement of Palestinians from their homeland and the suffering they have endured since 1948. On this sacred occasion, Pakistan reaffirms its unwavering solidarity with our Palestinian brothers."
Calling for an immediate end to military interventions and rights violations in the region, Sharif stated: "We demand an immediate end to the oppression, occupation, and violence carried out by the Israeli occupation authorities against Palestinians."
Clearly reiterating Pakistan's official foreign policy stance regarding the resolution of the crisis, Sharif said: "Pakistan also reaffirms its steadfast support for the establishment of a sovereign, independent, viable, and contiguous Palestinian State based on the pre-June 1967 borders, with القدس as its capital."
