Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha met in Kyiv with UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) representative Salih.

During the meeting, the continuation of UNHCR’s support to Ukraine, including winter assistance amid Russia’s attacks on energy infrastructure, was discussed. The effective implementation of the regional support plan for Ukrainians abroad was also evaluated.

Sybiha stated that Ukraine remains resilient and that the experience gained since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression constitutes an important asset for international cooperation. He noted that Ukraine is ready to share this experience.

He added that even as the war continues, post-war recovery, safe return, reconstruction and sustainable development remain on the agenda, and thanked UNHCR for its vital assistance to vulnerable Ukrainians and for supporting small and medium-sized enterprises through local procurement.

A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and UNHCR aimed at strengthening the capacity of consular services for Ukrainian citizens abroad.
