John Lyons from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) asked the U.S. president how much wealthier he had become since returning to the White House in January.

“I don’t know,” Trump replied, saying his children managed the family business. “I think you are really harming Australia right now, and they want to get along with me.”

Trump said he would meet with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese “very soon,” adding: “I will tell him about you. You used a very bad tone.”

When Lyons tried to ask another question, Trump put his finger to his lips and said, “Be quiet,” before moving away to speak with another journalist.

Albanese had been requesting a meeting with the U.S. president for months after their planned talks were canceled at the last minute in June when Trump left the Middle East earlier than expected to deal with the war.

Albanese, who will be in the U.S. next week for the UN General Assembly, told ABC Radio on Monday that they would “meet in New York.”

“He is hosting a reception next Tuesday evening. In addition, we will meet at various forums from now until the end of the year.”
