Tusk: We should not wait for the aggressor to knock on our door
Warsaw, September 1 (Hibya) - Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, speaking at Westerplatte, drew attention to the threat that the war in Ukraine poses to Europe and said action against aggression should be taken without waiting.
Tusk said the attack on Ukraine should not be ignored, warning that if people say today, “this is only Ukraine,” Poland could face a similar situation tomorrow.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, speaking at Westerplatte, a place associated with the beginning of the Second World War, said aggression must be contained and timely action taken against threats.
Tusk said, “Westerplatte is the place where history shouts at us the loudest: We should not wait for the aggressor to knock on our door.”
Commenting on the war in Ukraine, Tusk said, “If someone says today, ‘this is only Ukraine,’ tomorrow we may hear, ‘this is only Poland.’”
