Ukraine Reopens Its Consulate General in Presov
Presov, 5 December (Hibya) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that they have officially reopened the Consulate General of Ukraine in Presov.
Sybiha stated that they held the official opening ceremony of the Consulate General in Presov and that the Ukrainian flag flying over the building carries a powerful meaning for them.
He recalled that the consulate had been suspended in 2014 due to Russia’s aggression, adding: “In 2025, it was reactivated as a sign of our determination and our strengthened diplomatic presence in Slovakia.”
Sybiha emphasized that the new Consulate General will contribute to the protection of Ukrainian citizens and also promote trade and investment to support the country’s reconstruction efforts.
He thanked Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar and the authorities of Eastern Slovakia for their solidarity and humanity shown during Russia’s full-scale invasion.
