UNRWA: People in Gaza are struggling to survive
New York, January 17 (Hibya) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) issued a statement on living conditions in Gaza.
In its statement, UNRWA reported that people in Gaza are struggling to survive amid a man-made catastrophe.
The statement noted that UNRWA shelter supplies, which are vital for hundreds of thousands of people, have been held outside Gaza for months due to Israeli authorities continuing to block the agency’s entry into Gaza. “UNRWA continues its operations in Gaza and has the capacity to significantly scale up its life-saving activities if humanitarian aid is allowed to enter freely,” the statement said.
Emphasizing that the restrictions must end, the statement added: “Humanitarian aid must be allowed to enter Gaza on a large scale and without obstruction.”
