U.S. stock markets searched for direction
Istanbul, July 9 (Hibya) - U.S. stock indices moved in different directions during the trading session, failing to establish a clear trend.
Technology indices ended the day with gains, while the major indices came under selling pressure. Of the five major indices, three declined while two closed in positive territory.
The NASDAQ 100 index rose 0.27 percent to 29,252.562 points. The NASDAQ Composite gained 0.20 percent, closing the session at 25,870.652 points.
The S&P 500 index fell 0.28 percent to 7,482.71 points, while the Russell 2000 (RUSS 2K) index lost 0.88 percent, ending at 2,956.389 points.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) posted the day's steepest decline, falling 1.09 percent to finish the session at 52,348.39 points.
