European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen made remarks in New York regarding support for Ukraine’s defense.

Addressing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, von der Leyen said, “Europe is working more than ever to strengthen Ukraine’s defense.”

Noting that the new EU-Ukraine ballistic missile defense program could help rapidly increase production, von der Leyen said, “More defense support is coming.”

Von der Leyen also said that further budget support would be provided as reforms in the Ukrainian parliament advance, noting that 37 billion euros are available for use during this calendar year.

Stating that her message to all leaders in New York was clear, von der Leyen said, “We all need to increase our support for Ukraine’s defense.”
