Zakharova: This is censorship disguised as justice
Moscow, July 3 (Hibya) – Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova commented on the European Union (EU) Court of Justice's ruling concerning the re-sharing of content from banned Russian media outlets.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova criticized the European Union (EU) Court of Justice's ruling on the re-sharing of content from banned Russian media outlets, describing the move as censorship aimed at confining Europe within Brussels-approved information bubbles.
Arguing that the real intention behind the court's ruling is to make content-blocking mechanisms permanent, Zakharova said: "The Court of Justice of the European Union has effectively legitimized the prohibition on re-sharing content from 'banned' Russian media outlets, including RT."
Drawing attention to the one-sided media environment in Europe and restrictions on freedom of expression, Zakharova concluded her statement with the following words:
"This is censorship disguised as justice, aimed at locking Europe inside Brussels-approved information bubbles."
