Zelensky: Russian attacks continue
Kyiv, September 22 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that in Russia’s latest airstrikes, civilian infrastructure was targeted in many regions of the country, causing casualties.
Zelensky stated that in the city of Zaporizhzhia, 15 apartment buildings and 10 private houses were damaged in strikes carried out with guided aerial bombs. So far, 3 people have lost their lives, while search, rescue, and debris removal operations continue.
He added that the regions of Donetsk, Dnipro, Sumy, Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Kherson were targeted overnight by drones, with more than 140 UAVs, some of them "Shahed" type, sent into Ukraine’s airspace. In Sumy, a bread factory, a school, and a kindergarten were damaged, with one person injured. In the town of Malotaranivka in Donetsk region, a school was also damaged.
In his statement, Zelensky also referred to the United Nations General Assembly that began in New York, emphasizing that for four years Russia has continued its attacks simultaneously with high-level diplomatic summits. He called on the international community: “Real steps must be taken so that murder and war do not become normalized.”
