Albares: Spain has an identity aimed at defending respect for international law
Madrid, December 23 (Hibya) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Jose Manuel Albares, presented the External Action Report, which aims to outline the actions, objectives, and mobilized resources during the year 2024.

In the report, based on the 2021-2024 Foreign Relations Strategy, Albares emphasized the importance of fulfilling commitments through four main axes, stating that Spain has strengthened its role in Europe by providing comprehensive support to Ukraine.
Additionally, Albares mentioned that Spain, by defending international law, led Europe’s stance on Gaza and recognized the State of Palestine on May 28, 2024. He added: "Spain has a unique identity that aligns with its commitment to promoting multilateralism, including its election to the Human Rights Council (2025-2027) and its annual presidency of the UNRWA Advisory Committee."
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reiterated its determination to strengthen bilateral relations by creating the new Spain-Africa Strategy 2025-2028, organizing the Spain-Portugal Summit, and hosting a High-Level Meeting with Turkey, along with taking on the temporary Secretariat for the upcoming Ibero-American Summit in 2026.
Regarding the report, Albares stated: "Spain has a unique identity aimed at strengthening capacities and promoting cooperation, dialogue, and respect for international law."
