Araghchi speaks with his Cypriot counterpart Kombos
Tehran, December 20 (Hibya) – Iranian Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyyid Abbas Araghchi held a phone call with Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos.

During the call, Araghchi emphasized Iran’s principled approach to respecting the national sovereignty of all countries, including Cyprus.
Araghchi stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers any interventionist approach against territorial integrity to be firmly unacceptable.
Referring to the fact that Cyprus will assume the presidency of the European Union in early 2026, the official expressed hope that the country could play a constructive role in advancing EU-Iran relations.
During the call, the two ministers also exchanged views on bilateral relations between Iran and Cyprus, as well as on international developments.
