Budrys: Ratko Mladic was a convicted war criminal
Vilnius, September 8 (Hibya) – Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys reacted to the legacy of former Bosnian Serb commander Ratko Mladic and attempts to glorify him, emphasizing that justice and historical facts cannot be changed.

Drawing attention to the crimes against humanity committed by Mladic, Budrys said: “Ratko Mladic was a convicted war criminal.”
Recalling the grave dimensions of his legacy, Budrys said: “His legacy is associated with the Srebrenica massacre, genocide and crimes against humanity.”
Taking a firm stance against efforts to glorify war criminals, Minister Budrys said: “Attempts to glorify him mean disrespecting the victims, insulting the survivors and undermining the truth.”
Budrys concluded his statement with the words: “History cannot be rewritten and justice cannot be erased.”
