European Council President Antonio Costa thanked the General Committee of Agricultural Cooperatives of the European Union (COPA-COGECA) for the productive meeting.

Costa said: “In times of uncertainty, farmers need reliability and support, and Europe will always stand behind farmers.”

Referring also to simplification steps to make farmers’ daily lives easier, Costa said: “Strong and sustained support in the EU budget, targeted support for small and family farms and young farmers, and simplification to ease farmers’ daily lives.”

Costa concluded his remarks by saying: “Europe is with you now and in the future.”
