Lahbib: Resumption of attacks in Congo is causing migration toward Burundi
Brussels, December 18 (Hibya) — EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib noted that the resumption of attacks in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has led to an increase in migration toward Burundi.
EU Commissioner Hadja Lahbib stated that the renewed M23 attacks in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo have caused large-scale migration toward Burundi.
Lahbib announced that the EU, facing growing humanitarian needs, has allocated an additional emergency fund of 500,000 euros to assist the affected population.
