Costa highlights the importance of the 2028 budget
Strasbourg, December 18 (Hibya) – European Council President Antonio Costa stated that the European Union (EU) needs a long-term budget to achieve its goals in security, competitiveness and social cohesion.
Costa noted that the European Union has set an ambitious agenda focused on security, competitiveness and social cohesion, stressing that achieving these goals requires the EU to have a long-term budget.
Pointing to the importance of the new EU budget entering into force as of 2028, Costa said that timing is critical.
