Far-right party named "TRUMP" founded in Belgium
Brussels, November 11 (Hibya) – According to the local media outlet BRUZZ, a francophone Belgian far-right party indirectly named after the U.S. president was recently founded by a former president of Belgium’s National Front.
Salvatore Nicotra, the founder of TRUMP, stated on the party’s website: “Donald Trump is the ultimate symbol of populism. He perfectly embodies what we stand for.”
TRUMP, short for *Tous Reunis pour l’Union des Mouvements Populistes* (“All United for the Union of Populist Movements”), is the successor to the far-right Walloon parties *Chez Nous* and the *National Front* (NF).
Nicotra emphasized that, unlike Flanders’ largest far-right party *Vlaams Belang*, TRUMP does not advocate separatism and aims to run both at the federal level and in the 2029 European Parliament elections. “We are a socially oriented right-wing populist party,” he said.
Nicotra, who served as a municipal councillor in Brussels’ Saint-Gilles district from 1994 to 2000, did not rule out running in municipal or capital elections.
Among the other founders is former *Vlaams Belang* member Emanuele Licari, who was removed from the party’s list after publicly praising fascism.
The party’s official launch is scheduled for November 30.
