Guterres: Peacekeeping brings hope in the midst of war
New York, May 14 (Hibya) – United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres emphasized that UN peacekeeping missions play critical roles around the world.
Guterres stated that peacekeepers help maintain ceasefires, protect civilians in conflict zones, and ensure a safe environment for the delivery of humanitarian aid.
He added that peacekeeping forces contribute not only to halting conflicts, but also to the post-war recovery process: “Peacekeepers lay the foundation for long-term recovery.”
