President Herzog expressed his full support for the agreement reached in Egypt, stating: “I extend my endless gratitude to President Donald Trump for making possible this agreement that ended the war and brings hope for a change in the reality of the Middle East.”

Noting that Trump undoubtedly deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for his determined efforts to end the war and return the hostages, Herzog added: “If he chooses to come here in the coming days, he will be received with great love and appreciation by the people of Israel.”

Herzog said that the ratification of the agreement opens a door of hope for the ‘day after’ in the Middle East, as well as an opportunity to create a moment of national unity and healing within the country.
