Weel: The agreement reached is an extremely important step
Jakarta, October 9 (Hibya) – Dutch Foreign Minister David van Weel said that the understanding reached regarding the first phase of the peace agreement between Israel and Hamas is an extremely important step.
Dutch Foreign Minister Weel emphasized that the agreement on the first phase of the peace process between Israel and Hamas is “an extremely important step,” adding: “May this be a historic turning point for peace and stability in the Middle East and bring an end to two years of unbearable suffering.”
He noted that the most critical phase now is the full implementation of the agreement, stating:
“This must begin with the immediate release of all hostages and ensuring unimpeded access for humanitarian aid to Gaza. We thank President Trump for his leadership. The diplomatic role of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey in bringing this agreement to life has also been invaluable.”
Weel added that the parties must continue to work toward reaching an understanding on the next steps of the peace plan and achieving a lasting resolution.
