According to CNN, Iranian state media confirmed that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed after the large-scale attack launched by the United States and Israel against the country, which U.S. President Donald Trump said would continue with heavy bombardment throughout the week.

State media reported that 118 girls lost their lives in one of the attacks on a primary school in Iran.

It was also reported that following the killing of the religious leader, Iran responded with a new wave of attacks across the region, targeting U.S. military bases, Israel, and objectives in the Middle East.

In Tehran, celebrations took place in the streets after the news of Khamenei’s death, while people took to the streets across the United States.
